The afternoon light seeps through the palm trees that blow ever so slightly in the breeze. Dappled sunlight dances over the colours of Rincy’s sari. Her jewellery glimmers in the afternoon glow as my camera clicks away at what’s on display.
Rincy talks about her trips to India, and getting to know her culture through travelling the streets there and bringing pieces of her past back home to Australia. She tells me of the struggles in finding yourself in a culture that is so far away: far far removed from the whitewashed communities we grew up in and days spent dressing up in Rincy’s saris.
